ABOUT ELEVATE CHURCH

Welcome to Elevate Church
Our Story
While each location shares the core values and vision, they have distinct ministries and outreach efforts to reflect the needs and opportunities in their neighborhoods. Whether it’s a Dinner Church in Rogers, or our campuses in Maumelle/Greater Little Rock, Russellville and Cabot, every Elevate location is committed to doing their part.
No matter which city you call home, you’ll find the same spirit of authenticity, Christ-centered teaching, passionate worship, and welcoming community. Together, we are Elevate Church—one church, many expressions, united in purpose.
Meet the Senior Pastor

What led me to become a pastor was a journey of both calling and surrender. I was raised in a home where faith was central, and from an early age, I was active in church. Music was my first ministry—serving as a pianist and later as a worship leader. During college, while involved with the Baptist Student Union, I felt a tug on my heart—a sense that God was calling me to something else.
Over the years, I served in various roles, but the call to pastor became undeniable. It wasn’t a lightning bolt moment, but a steady, growing conviction that God was preparing me to lead, shepherd, and plant churches where people could encounter Jesus in a life-changing way. My wife, Alice, shares that vision and call to serve.
God has been faithful throughout this process. My formal preparation includes a Master of Leadership & Church Multiplication & Discipleship from Asbury Theological Seminary. Currently, I’m pursuing my Doctor of Ministry. I became a pastor because I believed—and knew—that God was calling me to this role. It didn’t happen overnight; it was a journey. Through each of my previous staff positions, God was shaping me, teaching me the purpose and heart behind every ministry. Those experiences molded me into the pastor He was preparing me to be. This 37-year on-ramp has helped me understand what it means to lead with humility, purpose, and a servant’s heart.
My preaching philosophy is that sermons should be biblically faithful, Christ-centered, and transformative. I approach each sermon as an opportunity to communicate God’s truth in a way that is both engaging and applicable. The scripture must be understood within its context while also incorporating practical applications for today. Preaching is a vital tool for discipleship, equipping believers to live out their faith and engage in God’s mission. I prayerfully seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, ensuring that my sermons are not only theologically sound but also Spirit-led and relevant to my congregation’s needs.
I look forward to meeting you. I’m available Monday - Friday 9:00-4:00. If there is an emergency, you may contact me anytime.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
Vision

Our vision is to cultivate a vibrant community where individuals and families meet Jesus easily. We want to provide hope, purpose, and a deeper connection with God. The church is built on core values of community first, relationships that matter, lifelong spiritual growth, and a spirit of adventure.
The vision extends beyond Sunday gatherings—Elevate Church seeks to make a tangible difference in the local community day in and day out.
As Elevate Church grows, the goal remains clear: to be a place where everyone, regardless of their background, can experience transformation, build meaningful relationships, and step into the wonderful calling God has for their lives. The church envisions itself as a launching point for both personal faith journeys and broader kingdom impact in Northwest Arkansas and beyond.
Core Values
Core values that drive Elevate Church:

Community First
Jesus commanded us, “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35.

Grow Forever
Reflects our commitment to lifelong spiritual growth and transformation. Faith is not a one-time event but a continuous journey of drawing closer to God, deepening our understanding of His Word, and becoming more like Jesus.

Relationships Matter
Jesus built His ministry on relationships. We believe we cannot be the church Jesus calls us to be without following the example of Christ and the early church.

Choose Adventure
Embracing a life of faith with courage, curiosity, and a willingness to step into the unknown. It reflects a commitment to follow God’s call, even when it leads beyond our comfort zones.

PLANT. GROW. MULTIPLY.
What's Next for Elevate?
Elevate Church is a church plant with multiplying woven into its DNA. From the beginning of this God-led adventure, we sensed His call to plant in Northwest Arkansas. Soon after, we began receiving calls from families seeking a Wesleyan Church in the Greater Little Rock area—specifically near Cabot, about 25 miles north of Maumelle. As we listened to God’s gentle leading, we knew we had to respond. Today, we are actively planting four campuses across Arkansas: Rogers, Centerton, Maumelle, and Cabot.
Plant
Launch
After decades of ministry experience, Pastor Doug felt called to plant a church in Arkansas that would emphasize discipleship, service, and community impact. The vision for Elevate Church emerged from Doug’s passion for church multiplication and revitalization, particularly in areas where people long for a fresh expression of faith.
The church was officially launched in response to this call, with a strong focus on meeting people where they are and providing a welcoming space for spiritual growth. Elevate Church is affiliated with the Wesleyan Church and embraces a mission-centered approach to ministry.
Community
Community –Building a community where people can grow and share life together will always be a priority. We often hear what churches are against. Elevate Church is for communities where families, schools, businesses, and people can thrive.
Town of Maumelle
With our commitment to community, we seek to serving in grace and truth the Town of Maumelle and her citizens. Our greatest hope is to help build a firm foundation.
New churches in
America
New churches in America –Our hope is to be part of a church-planting movement that brings revival to our land. We commit to a vision of planting churches in communities all over Arkansas.
Land
We are looking to purchase 15-20 acres in the Town of Maumelle. This land and future buildings will provide the foundation for our community activities and provide a place from which to launch other churches and ministries.
Master Plan
Our Master Plan for the future Maumelle campus weaves itself into the fabric of the town. This plan reflects our desire to be “for” the community, as a center of activity for everyone to enjoy. This will be a welcoming space for people to engage with our church family through the intentional ministry offered via ongoing activities on our church property. By meeting needs and caring for the community first, we seek to earn the right to share the gospel of Jesus Christ second.
Building
The building(s) on the new property will be designed with the needs of the community in mind. As we care for our church family, we never forget the surrounding community is our mission field. We strive to design a new kind of church property that gives itself away sacrificially, demonstrating the same love Jesus has for each of us. We are responsible for leveraging our resources, including our buildings, to know and meet the needs of the wider community.

Our History
The Wesleyan Church traces its roots to the 18th-century Methodist movement led by John and Charles Wesley. They emphasized personal holiness, evangelism, and social justice. In 1843, a group of abolitionist Methodists left the Methodist Episcopal Church due to its refusal to take a strong stand against slavery. Led by Orange Scott, Luther Lee, and LaRoy Sunderland, this group formed the Wesleyan Methodist Church. In the late 19th century, the Pilgrim Holiness Church emerged. This group was committed to the doctrines of sanctification, revivalism and missionary work. In 1968, the Wesleyan Methodist Church and the Pilgrim Holiness Church merged to form a new denomination: the Wesleyan Church. Elevate Church, a Wesleyan Church, was founded with a vision to create a place where any person can connect with God, build authentic relationships and community, and grow in their faith.
